Darkseid’s return to the DCU sparked a challenge heroes have never felt. More powerful than ever before, the former Lord of Apokolips came back to claim another universe. A dangerous power held the key to his defeat, Extreme sacrifice was needed to acquire it.
SUPERMAN #35 (DC COMICS)
The end has finally arrived.
With DC K.O. crowning its’ champion, the final match is set. Superman has been taken off the board. This leaves the Time Trapper in uncharted territory. The Legion of Darkseid looks to make a statement of their own. Superboy-Prime, a Superman robot and Lois Lane bring the fight to the evil Legion. There’s no easy way out from this confrontation.

The Dreadnok War left its’ mark in the Energon Universe. It also revealed a secret to Duke that he’s not ready for.
Hound, an Autobot Transformer, has been working with Clutch for months. During the War, Hound revealed himself to save the Joes from attack. It is well known Duke doesn’t like Transformers. One in particular killed his friend. Having one hiding underneath his watch isn’t making things better.
DC KO #4 (DC COMICS)
Four remain in the fight to become Absolute Champion.
Superman, Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman and the Joker are the DCU’s last hope. One will emerge as champion but they will have earned it.
Darkseid has been waiting for this moment as well. Knowing that the tourney was commencing, he plotted as he possessed Booster Gold. The former Lord of Apokolips will not go down quietly. He has assembled his champions. A trinity of heroes in his dark, cruel world.

The failed assassination attempt orchestrated by Destro has led the COBRA leader to find unlikely help. Unlikely is an understatement. The help is in the form of DUKE! It resulted in new directions for the pair. Duke has reunited with his team and looks to bring in the Commander. They have competition in the Dreadnoks, who look to fulfill their deal. Who will be left standing in the end?

The numbers are dwindling, but the stakes are getting higher.
Darkseid is coming. The heroes of the DCU know this won’t be an ordinary fight with the former Lord of Apokolips. He has leveled up. So must they.
They have entered into a tourney to become Absolute Champion. The prize is the Heart of Apokolips. It will not come easy. Those entered know sacrifice is involved. It has resulted with friends fighting friends. Allies turning into enemies. Dark Horses sneaking in to steal victory.

Even in defeat, Batman finds a way to win.
During the “DC K.O.” tourney, The Dark Knight was eliminated by The Joker. His saga should have ended there. Implementing a failsafe, Batman wound up in a future imperfect. Dick Grayson became Batman. Robins were a unit more than any sidekick. Bruce Wayne was insane. After defeating Grayson, Bruce Wayne was moved to a Gotham ran by Jason Todd, otherwise known as Batman.
SUPERMAN #33 (DC COMICS)
As DC K.O. progresses forward, one figure is imposing his will on the rest of the competition.
LEX LUTHOR has returned from exile with a vengeance! “Humanity’s Last Hope” has already dine a number on Superman. Now he has his eyes set on Jason Blood and Etrigan. They shouldn’t expect mercy. This next round calls for pain!
G.I. JOE #16 (IMAGE COMICS/SKYBOUND ENTERTAINMENT)
What a mess Duke has walked into.
While taking time away from G.I. Joe, he stumbles on an assassination attempt on Cobra Commander. The culprit: his own enforcer Ripper! There is plenty of bad blood between the Commander and Ripper’s crew, The Dreadnoks. Duke made a choice to save the Cobra leader because it’ the right thing to do. No good deed ever goes unpunished.

When Destro manipulated Ripper into trying to kill Cobra Commander, he thought this would be an easy win. Little did he know Duke would be watching the events. After saving the Cobra leader, they are now on the run from a vengeful Dreadnok squad looking for payback.
It can’t get any worse for the “Energon Odd Couple” right? Right?
