*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

Williamson keeps the mystery rolling while challenging one member in the blind belief if family. The opening sequence with Brainiac 1 of 5 and Matter Eater Lad is classic Legion. The escape from the Persuaders is high energy. It heightens the look of danger at every turn surrounding Brande’s death. Readers watch as Matter Eater Lad showcases some cool uses of his skills while ushering a hasty getaway. This leaves a deadly fallout in its wake a s the Persuaders show some ill intentions to roadblocks of their plans.

Where the issue finds its’ mark is dealing with Lightning Lad. The meeting with his estranged brother offers a destination for a lost soul to cling to. The writing shows the hesitation on Alya’s mannerism. It causes enough friction to divide the pair before one goes all in on their belief. Mekt’s proposition of fantasy vs. reality is too good to pass up. This is segwayed nicely by Cosmic Boy and Saturn Girl’s sub plots. Each carry ample weight before ushing back to the main piece of drama. The closing act provides more intrigue with a huge reveal for readers to savor. Another big win for the Legion return tour!

Sherman and Bonvillain can do no wrong with this series. A bold opening shot of the Persuaders manual is eclipsed by Matter Eater Lad doing what they do best! The half panel starts a frantic escape sequence. Panels carry a high energy as the escape takes place. Readers get a wild action page broken down behind a fire attack. Its’ panel structure is impressive as events move into a darker area. This is capped off with a rippling page started with the Persuaders in the center.

Mekt’s return home crafts a larger struggle of survival in his recap. The silhouette of Superman indicated some hop in an abysmal living experience. This creates multiple reactions form his younger siblings. This is on full display with a crafty full page. Sherman’s art revels in the conflicting opinions given. Saturn Girl meets an imposing figure via half panel. The presentation is excellent in delivery. This gives way to more of Garth’ newfound direction. A loud full page image spotlights his growing hero career. The aftermath teases more danger with an intense full page to leave on. Another exceptional visual ride.

FINAL GRADE: 9.3

R.J. Brande’s murder mystery grows into further chaos with another fantastic chapter. Williamson’s writing dives further into the lore of family dynamics. Sherman and Bonvillain construct amazing visuals at each turn. This is the definition of what L.O.S.H. should be!
