WRITING:
As we continue towards the end of this volume of Space Ghost, the stakes have never been higher. David Pepose shows us the danger that all of our heroes find themselves in, as well as giving the reader a real sense of urgency for the family to reunite. The cunningness of Space Ghost allows him to outsmart the villains he’s already faced before. Pepose does a great job of portraying the villains as overconfident, which leads to the problems they have executing the plan. Meanwhile, the rest of the Space Ghost family are learning to work together and fighting as a team. Pepose spends equal amount of time building up the drama and hitting the reader with some kickass action. This balance is what makes Space Ghost the top tier series it is.
ARTWORK:
The art in this issue continues to meet the high bar set by the series. Jonathan Lau delivers crisp, engaging panels throughout, with character designs that are both distinctive and instantly recognizable. Detailed backgrounds help ground each scene and strengthen the overall mood. Andrew Dalhouse’s colors add extra punch, matching the characters and settings while making the tone easy to read at a glance. Together, the team produces standout visuals that make the book feel a cut above other titles on the shelf.
