What an impact made in 87 years….
Ever since Detective Comics #27 hit shelves in 1939, the adventures of Batman have amazing and impressed fans. Taking personal tragedy and forging it into an unbreakable will for Justice, Bruce Wayne’s legacy as transcended the pages of comics.
The streets of Gotham City may have grown but the Dark Knight has stayed true to his gritty roots. Batman has always been a character that is focused (to the point of over-paranoia) in his quest for vengeance. There’s something about his drive that has been a major connection with fans.

Maybe it’s the fact he is an ordinary human who had enough of sitting on the sidelines. That is a relatable factor. The money, gadgets and extensive trainings to become the most dangerous person on the planet? Maybe not so much. It still has made a connection with Pop Culture that few characters can claim.
No matter in what form he has been presented in, the stories of the Dark Knight have left a lasting bond on fans.
There’s no question of this whenever word of a Batman movie is announced. The conversation ends quickly when fans talk of the “Best Superhero animated series of all time (Sorry X-Men ‘97). Even on the small screen, “The Penguin” doesn’t lock in its’ audience without a hope to see the Bat in that Gotham skyline.
Plus, let’s not forget about a current series leading not only DC Comics’ current success run, but comics itself:

Now going on his 12th official “Batman Day”, there’s no slowing down of memories being made from the escapades and action of the Caped Crusader. The real question becomes: what is the true impact of Batman in 2026?
For this FLZ editorial, we decided to take that question of Batman’s legacy and impact to some content creating friends to get their reactions.

Batman has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up watching reruns of Batman 66’ with Adam West & Loved it PLUS the movie. Holy shark repellent Batman! Watching every big screen movie, from childhood to now, Michael Keaton to Val Kilmer and George Clooney with the Bat-nips to the Bale trilogy. Ben Affleck has the on screen suit, don’t care what anyone says. To Pattinsons take.
I’m an avid comic book reader so The Long Halloween, Dark Victory, The Black Mirror, Batman: Noel and All Star: Batman and Robin are a few of my favorites to recommend. Batman is a character who has evolved, from campy to dark and haunting to a dad. Teaching us lessons at every turn of the page. Batman remains one of those characters I will never grow out of. Happy Batman Day citizens!

Ever since I was a kid , Batman was a sign of hope . He showed me that you can’t let the horrible things you experience in life define who you are. Instead, he used it as a way to understand those around him . Bruce wanted to make sure that no ever experience what he felt .
I think that’s why he was so cold sometimes because the world is a cruel place. Sometimes that’s the reality of it but he always did was right in the end. Bats didn’t want to be alone because he didn’t like people ,but because he didn’t want to lose anyone else. That’s the impact Batman’s had on me.
We learn so much life lessons and morals from him . You learn to not be greedy and what comes with it when you are . You learn sometimes you need a helping hand from a friend ,and that’s okay .
LET’S TALK ABSOLUTE BATMAN!
My favorite Batman story would have to be Under The Red Hood. I think the trauma part of it always stood with me and showed me how cruel the world can be. It showed the darkness that Bruce faces, and you are so angry towards him, but you start to understand he is experiencing all of this for the first time too. This was one of his biggest fears came to life and that made it personal. Seeing a different side of him. Then also showing how much Jason is suffering and how he handles the whole situation. It’s a big life lesson on how actions have consequences to them.
Bruce never fails to remind you to never give up. That’s why Batman will always represent a sign of hope for me because after everything he taught me in life I know I’m going to be okay . I just have to make sure to do my part to be a better person in the world .. So for Batman day, remember to be kind and to help others !

Batman has always impacted me more than just being a superhero. What I like about Batman is that he’s a regular human being who decided that he was going to stand up and do something about the things that scared him. He doesn’t have superpowers, and that makes him different from a lot of other heroes to me. I’ve always liked the fact that Bruce Wayne keeps getting knocked down, loses people, makes mistakes, and still gets back up and puts the suit on. Batman has been around for so many different versions and stories, but at the heart of it he’s always been about doing what he believes is right, even when it costs him. That’s probably why I’ve stayed a Batman fan for so long. There’s just something about that character that keeps pulling me back to the comics.
One of my favorite Batman stories that doesn’t really get any shine is Batman Night Cries by Archie Goodwin. It was one of the first graphic novel Batman stories that I’ve read.

I can vividly remember the first time I saw Batman. I was watching Justice League, the animated series, with my dad, who is one of the biggest comic book fans that I know. I remember pointing out a man in a bat-themed costume who stopped a villain, he was tactical in every way imaginable, and seemed to be one step ahead of the villain the whole time.
I asked my father who the hero was, and my father explained, saying, “That’s Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman!”
I asked what his powers were at that point, assuming all heroes had powers, and my father simply said, “His brain, son. He is one of the smartest detectives, inventors, and fighters in all of comics. In a world of heroes with superpowers, his power is his mind, and the power of a strong mind is greater than any power a man could ever have.”
I was raised to know that knowledge is a true superpower, like Batman. As I got older, it made me respect and appreciate Batman for more than just a rich man in a cape who fights crime.
LET’S TALK BATMAN BAD SEEDS!
Batman, to me, serves as a reminder of the lessons my parents instilled in me: self-belief and learning to turn your environment and the trials and tribulations that you’ve been through into a way to learn and educate yourself, so that you can be a hero for the future. These are lessons that I still follow to this very day and plan on instilling in my children.
Being a comic book reader myself now in my late 20s, it’s refreshing to see that core essence of Batman that I witnessed as a kid still pushes through to this very day, after all these years, continuing to make that same impact on the heroes of the future. My favorite story is The Long Halloween I’d have to say. It’s tough because there’s so many choices that I’ve read and loved but that’s made the most impact.

DRE DRIVEN!
I've been a batman fan since I watched the 1st Michael Keaton version of the character. My uncle use to draw him for me as a kid. Then I discovered the Adam West version because of the re-runs that use to come on Saturday afternoons when I was a kid.
Once the Animated series dropped and it was a game changer for me and a lot of other kids. The reason he’s impacted me is because even though he's a billionaire, he's a human who can take out the worlds top heroes with prep time and smarts.
That meant alot to me because of him being a human who can do all he can do and be one of the most feared Heroes in DC! And don't get me started he has one of the best team in the DC universe... his team owned those episodes in Young justice, the bat-family was the best team assembled and the nicest.
Batman’s villain archives the best in the game. So that’s just a few reasons why he's my top hero and will always be. After him it’s wolverine, but that’s another discussion for another time.

As for stories, Under The Red Hood is just one i was shocked it was Jason Todd the whackiest robin in my book. It’s Kinda like how Ken loves Ben Riley lol. Plus can’t forget about The Long Halloween.
A little backstory about Me. My uncle was an artist that drew heroes for me like batman, wolverine, etc. If he didn't die because he had juvenile diabetes, he probably would be on the Tom King creative level.
In my opinion because he was so nice and he would've loved to be around to see all this superhero movies, cartoons etc. We will probably be at comic con together every year and seeing all these movies together. That’s part of the impact Batman’s left with me
CHRIS - WHAT A BOY WONDERS!
I don’t think there’s a fictional character that has had more of an impact on me than Batman.
At every juncture of my life, he’s been there. From watching Adam West Batman reruns with my grandma to taking my son to the comic shop on wednesdays to pick up the latest issue of absolute Batman. Batman has always been there and it never ceases to amaze how a character so old can find new ways to inspire me.
