Prince keeps the winning formula of quirky dialogue and heavy drama rolling in this chapter. Seeing Brand and Bobby make their way to Hell offers some laughs before the door opens. Once here, the story gets a bit more focused on the trouble lying in wait. The writing stages events fluidly to escort Brand around the worsening stages.
Readers see how things continuously decline at this stage. Prince runs with a few concepts until leading to the larger confrontation in waiting. Seeing Brand’s plans hit a stalling point throws more drama onto the fires. It leaves with a gloomy sense of misleading facts. This only worsens when he confronts the main villain of this issue. The writing rattles things up one more time before crashing into the ending. Once here, events shake up yet again as his mission gets some clarity of truth.

Morazzo & O'Halloran hit some high marks on the visual presentation. The entry into hell is given a fantastic two page spread. There is a great deal of attention tot he smaller details. Readers will be blown away by this. The ventures inti Hell’s levels vary with each having their own unique look. This gets more uncomfortable as the story presses onward.
The moon sequence is a fun pace changer as the journey moves on. Panels reflect a much different tone before going onto more “traditional” themes associated with Hell. Brand’s encounter with hounds complies some unusual images into play. One noted piece of literature amplifies the messy situation he now finds himself in. This shoves his cause into a more unstable confrontation. The back and forth on display is met with huge friction. It results in a diabolical closing act. Wacthign the final panel play out, its’ safe to guess where events will be shaken up next issue.
FINAL GRADE: 8.6
Boston Brand goes to Hell and it’s not a great vacation. Prince his great strides with putting the hero through extreme difficulties. Morazzo & O'Halloran dazzle with expressive images. “The Deadman” is a series that doesn’t play by anyone else’s rules.
