The writing spends a great amount of time developing the tragic origin of Miyamoto and Jin for the initial pages. Readers witness the fight for a father’s attention spiral into jealousy and violence. It stages Miyamoto as a prime target for Edge to manipulate. This leads into the more complex stages of present day. With Edge’s forces gaining an advantage, it pushes Henry into a dangerous face-off with no easy way out.
Anyone looking for the signature LF action don’t wait long for that to take hold. It becomes more disjointed with other characters entering the fray. Readers watch as the story does another jump to show the ramifications of Miyamoto’s betrayal. While detailed, it does lead to some confusion spaces before cementing itself for the closing pages. After lengthy combat, the final pages allow for some dramatics before swinging huge with a last page reveal. To say things just became more complicated is an understanding.

Casalanguida is joined by Dockery on art duties. Miyamoto’s upbringing plants deeper seeds as Jin is introduced to the story. The art shows the jealousy growing by the panel. It leads into the intense betrayal and what follows suit. It serves as a great primer for the huge showdown involving Miyamoto and Henry in present day. Casalanguida starts the fight with an impressive full shot. From here, panels pick up the pace as more join in the combat. Readers watch as the resolution comes with a striking half panel. This easily allows Dockery to drop a solid two page spread usher in the closing stages. The mood never lets up on the intensity right to the finish. One last final full shot shakes everything up as the last stand is forthcoming. Solid work all around here.
Heague and Winkle close up the Bombshell back-up on a high note. Readers watch as the pair plays off each line with great wins. Their exchanges heighten the dangers coming right at them. Winkle’s close-ups of Bombshell’s reactions to shooting a Nazi-Kaiju elevate the chaos ensuing. Heague keeps events moving in a steady pace until dropping an excellent closing page putting an end to the conflict. How anyone isn’t yell “Hell Yeah” after seeing how Bombshell and Henry handle business here needs a pulse check. This leads into a very calm finish with the art ending events in a more comfortable spot. Fans need more of this creative team playing around in the LF universe sooner than later.
FINAL GRADE: 8.6
Henry brings the violence as a deadly showdown forces his hand as Edge continues his reign of terror. The writing delves into the conflict on a very high level. The art showcases the major conflicts evolving. Brace for impact with that final page!
