STORY OVERVIEW:
Jacen and Godzilla decide they need to work as a team if they hope to take down what May has become. But before they can really get the drop on her, she comes to Jacen and takes him on a journey down memory lane. She shows him her birth and her twin sister who doesn’t make it. But most importantly she shows him that they are connected through his mother, and that they were both in the same G-Mutant program led by General Onishi. While this is going on the G-Force team is trying to help Godzilla fight May’s Biollantress Form, to no avail. The plot thickens more when General Onishi shows up and lets the team in on a little secret.
WRITING:
This issue promised to have a knock down drag out fight and instead delivers an eye-opening plot driven story. Tim Seeley uses this bait and switch to perfection as it keeps the reader guessing, well drawing us in further to this spiderweb of a tale. The emotional and thought-provoking revelations that we find out as May reveals the past to Jacen, are sure to hit readers in the feels, well also making the light bulb in your head light up. The secrets revealed by both May and Onishi really start to paint the bigger picture at hand in this story. Don’t get me wrong, Seeley still delivers plenty of action. However, that all really takes a back seat when you compare it to the surprising reveals we get in this issue.
ARTWORK:
The artwork in this issue perfectly supports its dramatic story. Hendry Prasetya brings the emotional scenes to life with striking detail, while the Biollantress design stands out as both vivid and visually compelling. His attention to detail captures the story’s mood and emotion without losing any of its energy. Francesco Segala’s colors further elevate the art, adding vibrancy and depth to every panel. Together, the creative team delivers outstanding visuals from start to finish.
