ROOK: EXODUS #10 (IMAGE COMICS/GHOST MACHINE)

It has been since December of 2025 that readers have ventured into Exodus.

Last entry, odds were not in Rook’s favor. Better-World’s schemes were exposed. In the attempt to unite the other Wardens, plans went sidewise. The world engine was failing. Bloodhound is the only one who can fix it, but he is not in a sane mental state.

Matters have become worse as Rook, Dire Wolf & Carapace. They have become captured in their efforts with another Warden with an axe (or sword) to grind.

ROOK: EXODUS #10 by Geoff Johns, Jason Fabok, Brad Anderson & Rob Leigh continues its’ latest arc.

Let’s take a look at how events play out now.

*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

The writing opens up about the mystery behind Stag. Readers get a solid glimpse into his heartbreaking past. Ayame’s words paint the picture of fleeting enjoyment. It s a striking difference than Stag’s. Once the truth becomes revealed, the present situation spins a darker path. The path to escaping moves into brutal realization. Rook’s banter proves fleeting as revenge is fueling the Deer Warden. This pushes events to a dangerous breaking point.

Rook’s stance never waivers as Stag looks poised to kill. Their conversation is driven by matters close to home. Rook’s goals to save the planet vs. Stag’s thirst for vengeance. The resolution comes in a fine but simplistic fashion. This ushers events into the closing stages. There’s plenty of emotionally driven points in these panels. It never escapes readers about the true intentions of Rook’s group. This allows the final pages to commence with a strong concluding point. It casts enough curiosity to extend the brooding drama for at least one more round. Can’t ask for much more than that.

READ LAST ISSUE’S REVIEW!

Fabok and Anderson begin with a gorgeous two-page spread of Nara, Japan. The coloring on these pages explode as Ayame’s words take over. Stag’s hesitation is written in his face. The expressions here conflict enough to show doubt on both sides. It doesn’t take long to move towards a more horrific realization. A stunning full page image shows Stag’s true fate. The moment is complimented by detailed flashback. This set-up helps to construct the impending face-off between Wardens.

Readers watch as the talk become more heavy as Rook is freed. The art shows his building frustration towards Stag’s ignorance to events. This leads to a superb series of fighting panels. It becomes easy to be swept up in this moment. Fabok uses a 9 grid page to bring a stop to the conflict. Once an outcome is determined, the mood shifts towards another area. Events move towards a personal area as the hunt for Bloodhound reaches a climax. The panels flood with many responses before landing on a fantastic final full page. It’s a great landing spot for now as the future remains unclear.

FINAL GRADE: 8.6

Stag’s quest for vengeance leads Rook to make a dangerous gamble. The writing dips into the emotional pulls of Exodus’ unforgiving ways. Fabok and Anderson construct bittersweet images through the chaotic search for answers. A sci-fi saga with much more happening than readers could ever expect. Don’t miss out.
