STORY OVERVIEW:
The G-Force USA Team has been ran through the ringer but is still on the trail of the Kaiju stampede. The stampede has brought Rumi, Richard, and Incense to the farm in the Midwest. The farm has been overgrown with monstrous rose bushes and now monster Kaiju’s. However, the situation is going from bad to worse as Jacen has arrived in full Godzilla form and he is letting his anger fill him. The standoff between Godzilla and May has now been set and the balance of the Kai Sei Era is up for grabs. Hopefully Nuki and Jet can get to the farm to help Jacen regain control before it’s too late.
WRITING:
This issue takes a step back from the all-out action of the last couple of issues and focuses more on the drama that is driving the plot. Tim Seeley takes us from nonstop action to some well placed and exciting drama. Seeing the trials and tribulations the team is going through to not just save the country, but to also save and assist their friend Jacen is very touching. The love that they have for his safety shows how much of a family they have become. This is most evident with the love Nuki has for him, and her willingness to put herself in harm’s way even though she is hurt to help him. Seeley also shows how Jacen’s anger allows Godzilla to feed off of it and cloud his judgment. His split personality works like the Hulk’s and if he can’t figure out a way to control it, there will be consequences.
ARTWORK:
The artwork in this issue is an ideal complement to its dramatic storyline. Giada Belviso illustrates the emotion-packed scenes with impressive detail and beauty. The Kaiju designs are eye-catching, bursting from the page and immediately drawing in readers. Thanks to Belviso’s careful attention to detail, the emotions and atmosphere of the story come through clearly, without sacrificing excitement or intensity. Meanwhile, the color choices by Francesco Segala and Gloria Martinelli enhance Belviso’s illustrations, giving vibrant life to every panel. This art team truly shines in this issue, as demonstrated by their exceptional work throughout each page.

Final Thoughts:
Godzilla #10 may have brought less action than previous issues, but what it lacked there it made up for in the storytelling department. The emotional toll this arc has taken on the team, and Jacen is evident and really brings the reader into the family our team has become. The setting up for the showdown with May in the next issue has built up some tremendous anticipation. Couple all of that with some awesome artwork and you have a complete issue that will please readers of the genre. If you have been reading this series the payoff that is coming is promising to be huge.
