STORY OVERVIEW:

The list of killers has dwindled and now we are entering the end game. Well, the killers try to win and survive, the townspeople only have survival on their minds. Audrey who disposed of her would be killer is still on a mission to find her son. Meanwhile, her son Jason is being helped by Xavi, well they are trying to escape the wrath of Rascal Randy. Laurie has gathered the surviving townspeople downtown and has worked out an evacuation plan. But little do they know Pretty Boy is on the prowl. As the issue and story builds to a fever pitch, no one is ready for a showdown between Audrey and Lady Carolina. At the end of this issue two more killers will meet their demise, well the carnage in Oak Valley still plays out.

WRITING:

This issue hits a fever pitch with the drama, action, and carnage. Che Grayson takes the story to some darker places well upping the carnage. We have two horrific kills committed on the killers, with both being killed by townspeople. This enhances the story and shows that some of the townspeople are no longer in survival mode, but rather in fight mode. Grayson does an incredible job of giving the story the right amount of drama, which makes the kills that much more impactful. Really turning this story into one of perseverance and hope, rather than just doom and gloom. But don’t worry, the violence and brutality still hit and is more than satisfactory.

ARTWORK:

The artwork in this issue is spectacular and catches the vibe of this issue amazingly. Gavin Fullerton captures the violence and action, well also nailing the drama of the story. Keeping the artwork in the stylistic design that we have become accustomed to in this series is a huge plus. The best part of Fullerton’s artwork in this issue is the way the drama is captured. The pain in the characters’ faces and the hurt that is captured in the emotionally hard scenes really makes the art in this issue stand out. Add to that Jordie Bellaire’s signature color palette for this series and the artwork is simply awesome.
