STORY OVERVIEW:

Geiger and the Northerner are surrounded by the St. Louis Strays and even though they are children the threat is very real. Geiger finds out the kids were armed and trained by Ash Arden, so at least they were trained right. The kids let their guard down and let Geiger and the Northerner in and this is uplifting for all of them. However, Geiger and the Northerner are still on a mission, and they leave first thing in the morning for Detroit. But once they get there, nothing can prepare them for what’s next.

WRITING:

This issue continues the crossover well also building on what’s happened in past issues. Geoff Johns tells a beautiful story with a lot of heart in this issue. The heartfelt moments in this issue between the kids and our heroic duo really touch the readers’ hearts. Especially if you are a parent as it taps into that parental part of your brain. Johns also builds on the crossover story, moving it forward well keeping the reader in the dark which builds suspense. The cliffhanger ending really sets up where the crossover will be going moving forward and it’s definitely going in a great direction.

ARTWORK:

The visuals in this issue are outstanding, maintaining the series' high standards. Gary Frank leads the art team with striking illustrations, while Brad Anderson’s coloring adds depth and energy to every scene. The artists' collaboration delivers impressive visuals that support the story and keep readers engaged, confirming their place among top creative teams in comics.
