The Story
Jed MacKay took this issue in another different direction that I was not expecting for the issue. It didn’t feature so much with what’s going on in the DNX storyline, but rather features an interesting look at Psylocke with some interesting character development taking place in the issue.
The story features an interesting conversation between Cyclops & Psylocke about where things currently stand with their group. It also features an interesting introspective into just who Psylocke is and where she stands morally right now. It makes for some fascinating reading especially when you consider the fluid nature of where everything could end up by the end of the DNX storyline.
The conversation is set amidst the backdrop of Psylocke taking on a beast of immense proportions. It’s not exactly Godzilla sized, but it is just as cunning and almost as powerful. Overall, it makes for a very compelling read that was a real page turner.
The Artwork
Lucas Werneck & Arthur Hesli are in charge of the artwork for this issue and they did a fantastic job with it. The use of color was particularly spectacular, especially with the scenes with just Cyclops and Psylocke. The action sequences were also incredibly well drawn. You really get a sense of how powerful Psylocke can be, especially when her back is up against a wall.
Overall Grade: 7/10
A solid issue that provides readers with another unique perspective during the ongoing DNX storyline. Jed MacKay’s story, together with artwork that is spectacular make this an issue you definitely need to check out.
