STORY OVERVIEW:
The Danger Room members are celebrating their victory over the X-Men, but is this celebration a bit premature? Magneto makes a final attempt to stop Kid Omega and Temper from getting their revenge on the people of Merle for the shooting of Glob. Can he convince them of the truth that no one in the town was the shooter, and it was really an outside force setting them up? Meanwhile, Beast is having a discussion with the Bio-Mechanical organism that has consumed him and his team. Will he be able to use his intelligence to talk their way out of being completely consumed by this being. While all of this is going on Psylocke and her team are closing in on the Danger Room. Will they make it in time to stop them once and for all?
WRITING:
This final issue of the arc brings a satisfying closure to this five-issue run. Jed MacKay has put the X-Men in a great deal of peril over this run and now that the tides have turned, he sets the world right. With two out of the three conflicts being resolved using wits and words over fighting, it shows the depth of the characters involved in the story. It’s easier for the big action scene and fight to end the conflict, so the fact that MacKay pulls off the more diplomatic option of things creates a welcome resolution. The X-Men needed to find a different way to win, and they rose to that occasion and then some. The only detraction is that it is a predictable outcome but let’s be honest we aren’t looking for a reinvention of the wheel in the X-Men line, just a good story which this accomplishes.
ARTWORK:
The artwork in this issue is sharp and precise, enhancing the story at every turn. The action is rendered with clarity and energy across a range of settings, while the characters remain faithful to their classic designs and are immediately recognizable. Vibrant, dynamic colors add impact to each panel, making the visuals even more engaging. Combined, the work of the creative team delivers a standout visual experience.

Final Thoughts:
X-Men #30 is a good finale to a solid arc. The X-Men fought from their heels for most of the arc, and the creative ways they found to overcome made this story very enjoyable. The epilogue shows where we will be going moving forward while closing some doors on where we’ve been. For X-Men fans this current run has been firing on all cylinders and is bringing an excitement back to this legendary title. Keep your eyes out for the Trade of this arc, as if you missed it the first time, you won’t want to miss it again.
