The Story

Following the events of Ultimate Incursion which concluded in October 2025, in which we saw Miles Morales travel to the new Ultimate universe, we saw Miles return with the Origin Boxes. They were original created by The Maker to help his designs for that universe, but they were eventually taken an repurposed by Iron Lad & Doom and gave powers back to the heroes of that universe.

The story picks up not long after the first issue where we find Miles Morales on the hunt across Brooklyn trying to find out just where the Origin Boxes are. The only problem? He has no idea where they are! The scene quickly changes to that of none other than Wonder Man! He’s going through some interesting changes that are sure to have fans talking. Things then change to focus on that of Frank Castle, and it’s always a very interesting time when Frank shows up.

The issue is a solid one that builds on some interesting ideas that really open up the playbook to some real interesting possibilities. I loved how the story is set in the middle of a Frank Castle story, because I was not expecting it at all. It really ends up working when you see how Wonder Man & Frank end up crossing paths and to see two forces come to blows is very intriguing.

The end of the issue sets up nicely for whatever comes next, as it ends on a slight cliffhanger. It isn’t anything that will leave you shocked or have your jaw on the floor. However it does leave you with a sense of “oh that can’t be good” so it’ll be very interesting to see where things go from here.

The Artwork

Stefano Casselli, Marte Garcia & David Curiel are in charge of the art for the issue and they do a really fantastic job with the art in the issue. There’s a lot of different tones and themes going on through the issue and the artwork does a great job giving those scenes the breath they need to convey the story across. The variation of how it’s all presented, while still keeping it’s look is also particularly enjoyable.

Overall Grade: 8/10

A solid entry in the series that sets up for an interesting follow up in the 3rd issue. A great story, where Frank Castle takes center stage make for a surprise hit for the week. A good story together with fantastic artwork make this an issue you should definitely give a shot this week.
