We’re looking at TOMB OF APOCALYPSE #2 by Ashley Allen, Domenico Carbone, Fernando Sifuentes & Joe Sabino (Marvel Comics) - the X-Men story that sees one of their greatest villains & former ally Apocalypse harassing various members of the X-Teams.

Where we left off in Issue 1 was Jubilee and Wolverine from the Uncanny X-Men were trapped in a tomb full of Apocalypse's celestial tech. Apocalypse is channeling himself through Jubilee, talking to her, trying to get her to accomplish missions for him in this tomb.
They had just encountered Richter and Shatterstar. This issue sees the Firecracker X-Men team up with these two erstwhile mutants.
While we get a lot of insight into Richter's character about his previous dealings with Apocalypse and how he was kind of a protege for the purveyor of only the strongest survive. We see how Richter has been abandoned by Apocalypse and now he's trying to seek his way back into Apocalypse's good graces, if he can.
Shatterstar is following along because the two are in a relationship and he’s is trying to look out for his beloved.

This was a good issue. I really like the art in this series. The writing is strong. I like that Jubilee is having a chance to be portrayed as a leader type character. She is taking the lead in this series and showing everybody around and she's solving the puzzles in Apocalypse's lair.
I don't know that her power being basically reduced to shooting lasers out of her hand.
I don't know that I love that. But, you know, it's different writers' interpretation of explosive powers. I get it. I can completely understand that.
This is a good series so far. Wolverine returns after being buried. He's in issue one. He claws his way out and he finds his way to his friends and he's helping them through these puzzles and there are various threats that face them. Whether it's Apocalypse's puzzles, Apocalypse himself, mercenaries that are in the tombs looking for these tools that Apocalypse has left behind, and even a different version of Apocalypse himself that's down there, So, plenty to watch for.
FINAL GRADE: 8
I recommend this series so far now that I'm two issues in. It was entertaining and it keeps furthering along the story. I like the characterization. So, we will keep seeing how Tomb of Apocalypse shakes out next month whenever issue three comes out.
