Guggenheim throws Jindari into uncomfortable territory for this midway point. The opening raises many questions. None prepare the reader for a drastic turn as a player is taken off the board. The writing unloads Alex’s frustration as his perception of reality is fractured. It poses many obstacles to get re-focused. Sister Maglin’s taunts keeps the tensions high as the panels move events to a new discovery. Once the change in locations takes hold, events become more blurry in finding any semblance of truth.

Readers watch as Alex’s path takes him into direct combat. The aftermath becomes more clouded. It leaves a sense of doubt looming on the pages. Alex questions his new dilemma with little resolve. Where things become complex is a new stranger’s dialogue to the broken Jindari. The answers he finds are a far cry from what he desires. This unveiling will throw the audience for a loop. Once they regain bearings, they get taken for a ride into the closing. The finish is a very eye-opening one. Forget what you know. There is much left in the air to wait on seeing how it settles.

Oezgen & Cabrerawaste little time in shaking events up. The surprise attack on a certain character jumps out via quarter panel. Alex’s eyes tell a story unto themselves in reacting to this brutal move. It sends him onto a fit of rage before the story shifts gears. A solid two page image walks Alex into his next crisis. The action picks up when a surprise attack commences. Panels flow with the vicious back and forth. As the smoke clears, Alex is thrusted into another questionable landing spot.

Pages allow the latest character to take center stage. This moves to a monster revelation. The stellar two page spread gives readers a long awaited clarification on events. Panels show how this pandora’s box of knowledge has unlocked more than bargained for. Alex’s eyes convey the impossible comprehension of what happened. This spins into another great two page spread. There is never a sense of steadiness as more comes to light. Another excellent two page spread walks readers into a puzzling finish. The final panel will have readers talking as things have become much more complicated.

FINAL GRADE: 8.8

Axel Jindari gets some answers and more questions in this latest piece of the compelling saga. Guggenheim adds more layers into the heavily woven tale. Oezgen & Cabrera bring out the stunning panels to equal Alex’s new visions. This series continues to spin into very complex levels without missing a beat. Don’t miss it!
