STORY OVERVIEW:
The family is shaken to the core after the explosion of the time machine in the New Mexican desert. Well, searching for Roland in the wreckage they found Raina, who appears to have amnesia. Unfortunately, no trace of Roland was found, which is sad, but leaves hope that he may have time traveled and still be alive. The family decides to take Raina with them and get on the move as they know they will most likely be hunted by agents. Sure enough the agents show up and are hot on the trail of the family. When everything has gone wrong there is only one place to go…home.
WRITING:
This issue is a good bridge between story beats and does a great job of moving the story forward. Peter J. Tomasi does an incredible job of detailing the sullenness of the family after the explosion. The level of coping that the family is going through really touches the readers’ heart, well still giving hope for the future. Tomasi also shows the families uneasiness with their new companion Raina, and who can blame them. Does she really have amnesia or is this another trick of hers? This question brings some real suspense for what’s to come. Add in the agents that are tracking them, and you have all the drama you need to be excited for the next issue.
ARTWORK:
The artwork featured in this issue is outstanding, skillfully capturing the heart of the story. Francis Manapul masterfully brings the world to life, immersing readers in the family's pursuit and daily experiences. The illustrations effectively highlight the drama and emotion faced by the family throughout the narrative. Additionally, Rob Leigh’s letters enhance the artwork and story by drawing the reader’s attention to each panel. While the story itself is compelling, the art is just as impressive—if not even more so.

Final Thoughts:
The Rocketfellers #12 does a great job of bridging the story well, building for future issues in the series. Well lacking some upbeat moments and action if you will, the drama and heart of the story make up for this. The sullener tone allows the reader to soak in the importance of what is going on and the uncertainty of the family. This series always delivers and is a great family book. If you are looking for a series that the whole family can read, The Rocketfellers is that series.
FINAL GRADE: 8.1/10
