With the damage done in Colorado, the attention now moves to Pittsburgh. A red stricture has emerged in the heart of the city.
Firehawk has tracked down Dr. Martin Stein with a possible way to end this madness. The question now remains: is it all too late?

Lemire tackles the main theme surrounding Raymond, but not before a look back. The opening portion highlights Raymond’s first days in the Justice League. The dialogue locks on on Green Arrow’s doubts and Raymond’s awkwardness. It is classic superhero interactions as one can think of. The moment diverts the readers away bot the true threat becomes present.
As Stein and Firehawk arrive in Pittsburgh, the mood becomes more intense. Steinn’s past sins still hover Firehawk as she attempts the impossible. Their exchange walks with uncertainty as she creeps inside the red structure. Once here, readers begin to see a larger picture form. The fight for Raymond takes a few detours before settling in to a groove. This allows Firehawk to steal some scenes while Raymond battles. Tying in a flashback only helps here. This event raises the stakes before a glimpse of hope shows. However that fades fast. On e character’s surprise pushes events to an unforeseen finish. Expect some eyebrows raised on this one.

De Latorre & Maiolo project the flashback with the vintage comic feel for panels. The lighter coloring depicts the classic style of a time forgotten. A candid two page spread lets the League personalities shine while mirroring Raymond’s uncomfortable nature. This only becomes more noteworthy as he heads into action with Hawkman and Green Arrow.
Once events shift to present, the art creates the unstable mood for Firehawk’s mission. Her exchanges with Stein teeter on unstable as she is clearly frustrated with what he’s done. This moves into a showdown she’s not ready for. Balancing this with the flashback, the art team doesn’t lose any momentum. A fantastic two page spread shows Firestorm outmatched in the beginning outing. De Latorre pairs this so in synch with the current timeline.
It leads to more action beofre another two page spread shatters everything. The fallout fills with emotion as hope begins to fail. It gets sideswiped on the last page. An action occurs fitting of the full page presentation to close out events with. There’s no way this does create some chatter.
FINAL GRADE: 8.8
All eyes are on Pittsburgh as Firehawk makes one last attempt to save Ronnie Raymond. Lemire keeps the thrills at a high level for this chapter. De Latorre & Maiolo wave strong art throughout the mass chaos. Expect that last page to generate some chatter at the LCS.
