*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***
Waid and Cantwell refreshes readers on the current conflict after last issue’s DC K.O. fight. The sense of urgency has neve been higher as Wally races to Barry. The writing shows Wally’s fears as time slips away. An unlikely ally emerges through this crazy time period. Her help becomes the lead domino in turning Wally’s fortune. Readers watch as the moment comes not a second too late when the opposition finds the rescue attempt. There’s plenty of action unfolding in these pages. It leads to a shift in gears for one character. This proves to be more a surprise than originally thought.
Bart Allen’s emergence as a major player comes to fruition as he becomes an agent for change. One noble action puts him into an unknown space. Readers see how he received a much needed heart to heart with another guest. This leads into an actual win for the young speedster. The action picks up again with many elements for fans to enjoy. This moves into a more puzzling yet predictable close. Just when you think someone has learned form their mistakes, the final page puts a pause on this thought. It sets up a very unique position for the story to land for next time.

Georgiev & Herms begin with Wally flying with a Legion ring. This kicks off the fast recap before finding Barry in this timeline. Wally’s expressions show the concern for what’s happening here. This changes once the ally makes her presence known. Readers watch as Barry’s mind is blown away by the revelation of what’s coming. It doesn’t last long as The Legion makes a striking entrance. Panels start moving fast with action. This pivots to Bart Allen’s current stat quo. From here, images shift rapidly.
Readers watch as the brash attempt to save the day hits with a clumsy but effective approach. The half panel shots of the car crashing into the Legion set the pace for what follows. Bart’s trip into the Speed Force comes with high emotions with who he chats with. This leads to a newfound focus to finish the fight. A full page image proves all is right in the world, but not forever. Post action, a certain look comes across the youngest Allen. Readers know what this represents. Events leap to close with a final panel that screams of no good. Brace for where we head next.
FINAL GRADE: 8.3
Bart Allen continues to try and fail in his attempts to thwart Darkseid with mixed success. Waid and Cantwell write Allen at arguably his best while the chaos swirls around. Georgiev & Herms step up the action with strong images. Don’t speed out of the LCS without checking this out.
