*** POTENTIAL SPOILER WARNING ***
DC K.O. by Scott Snyder, Joshua Williamson, Xermánico, Javier Fernández, Wes Craig, Alejandro Sánchez & Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
Darkseid is coming back to Earth Prime after forming the Absolute Universe. The heroes are forced to make a desperate attempt to stop him. A tourney is staged to crown an absolute champion. To the winner goes power beyond their wildest dream. It does not come easy. The winner will have to make a sacrifice to take the shot against the former Lord Of Apokolips.
16 competitors but only one can be winner. The story is a wild trip into the dream match-ups of fans who want action. In the end, four remained. Superman was thought to have been defeated by Lex Luthor. This proved to be incorrect as the Man Of Tomorrow won the crown.
This lead to a show-stopping throwdown with Darkseid. Fans watched as eternal hope proved to be to much for The Omega to overcome. Victory came with a heavy price. Clark Kent is missing after the fight.
The story showcases everything fans love about Superman. Seeing the “boy scout” navigate the perils of the various match-ups was entertaining. No moment is greater than his final fight. If one person has to save the universe, its Big Blue. A magnificent lead-in for the DC Next Level and All In 2 movements

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLDS FINEST by Mark Waid,Dan Mora,Tamra Bonvillain, Adrián Gutiérrez.Luis Guerrero, steve wands and various creators
With anyone looking for timeless tales of the Man Of Tomorrow and the Dark Knight, World’s Finest is the book you need to read. Nobody does superhero stories like Mark Waid. Waid captures the eras he delves in and constructs complex tales. It also showcases why these two work well while being so different.
Whether it’s dealing with the Crime Syndicate in a case of mistaken identity to unlocking an underwater adventure with Aquaman, Finest always delivers. Recently, it crossed over with Justice League Unlimited to tell “We Are Yesterday”. The time-bending saga unlocked a world of mystery while K.O. took center stage. It was a fun crossover that lead it a notable group led by Mr. Terrific.
Now heading into a post K.O. time, the series looks to elevate the unique missions that require such a powerhouse pair to form together.

ACTION COMICS by Mark Waid,Skylar Patridge,Ivan Plascencia& Steve Wands(including various creators guest issues)
Since last summer, the longtime running Superman series opted to change things up. Instead of dealing with current timelines, Waid switched gears to focus on the original Superboy time period. One major event of this is when Metropolis gets its first experience of the Boy of Steel.
This has lead into some different directions that readers can see the difficulties of being that powerful at such a young age. Watching dynamics form with such characters as Gen. Lane prove engaging. Waid hasn’t been avoiding tough areas when applied. A war mission gone wrong opens Clark’s eyes to the dark side of government and politics.
The series is an excellent viewpoint into what Superman ultimately becomes. It is a great introduction series of fans wanting to get back to basics with the character. Even in the past, expect the unexpected.

SUPERMAN UNLIMITED by Dan Slott, Lucas Meyer,Giuliano Peratelli & Dave Sharpe(and various creators)
Spinning in the same vein as Action Comics, Superman Unlimited approaches stories with a classic Superman sense. Slott’s lead-in tale brings forth a new dynamic into Supes’ life. Kryptonite is now wide-spread on Earth due to a meteor crash. This has allowed common crooks to elevate their weapons. In one case, a country has become the richest on Earth for exporting the deadly element.
This has also created a weird new power for Superman. He can turn himself Gold and immune to the green rock for only a few moments. This has become a true challenge to overcome. Slott’s writing is straight forward with its’ plot. It has a certain vintage feel to the tales. Even when guests have helped out with issues, the series remains true to its’ core.
Recently the story made a huge change due to the aftermath of K.O. Jon Kent is the main lead, but not without a twist. His younger self has now appeared due to a villain’s timeline mischief. With two Kents running around, the possibilities are endless where this goes from here.

SUPERMAN by Joshua Williamson, Jamal Campbell, Dan Mora, Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira, Júlio Ferreira, Alejandro Sánchez & Ariana Maher (plus various)
Ever since he launched the new series, Joshua Williamson has bee on fire with this series. It has challenged the dynamic between Lex Luthor and Superman. Fans have had new villains and heroes to watch shake things up. Doomsday has evolved into the Time Trapper. Let’s not forget when Williamson took the monster risk of bringing back a polarizing character known as Superboy-Prime.
This series consistently delivers on redefining Superman to the modern audience. Even when he was the key figure of K.O., every single issue lead into the impact he would make in the tourney. The amount of easter eggs in this series for that event is astounding. There has never been a moment to feel like “this is filler’. Even with a switch of artists, the quality of this series dodged any hiccups.
Now with Kent gone, Williamson is going all in on Prime as the lead hero of the series?! It’s an ambitious run that will have fans talking in the months to come.
