Campbell takes this story into some uncharted territory with the opening. The dialogue brings out the old animosity between Kara and Ursa. Having Superboy bear witness makes for an interesting twist into this conflict. Their arrival on Krypton immediately unlocks pent-up emotions. This especially hits hard for young Clark. The writing draws out this factor to push Kara into action. Knowing how one mistake can crash a timeline never escapes view.
Readers watch as the chase for Ursa takes center stage. Pacing is steady as Kara is thrown some obstacles along the way. Brief glimpses of the affected Super Family by the plague provides a break int he chase. The writing exposes more information about this infection while maintaining hope in this dreadful time. Campbell brings events back to Kara with a strong dilemma. It’s presented in a clever way, allowing a final surge into closing. Once in the latter stages, another shocking turn is given which can only leads to more danger on the way. A very solid read from start to finish.

The art team open with a great melee in the timestream. It delivers brief action while moving events along to the intended destination. Watching Superboy process this moment makes for a notable point in this portion. Looks of wonder and awe become short lived as Kara must take the burden of stopping Ursa on her own. A great half panel shows her drive kicking in. Panels dive back to Earth, unlocking more questions on the plague taking over.
Panels spotlight the “zombie-esque” state some of the infected are turning into. It adds a small touch of horror into panels while the Super family rebounds. Readers also see one pivotal character struggle with Ursa’s actions. This moment provides a solid pivot to take events back to Krypton. Kara runs a course of feelings as she remembers a time lost. Panels close in on her tears while searching for Ursa. This leads into a shocking full page image. It becomes the starting point for a frantic dash to closing. Upon arrival, the final pages tease more threats looming, with none greater than the last character. A striking full page welcomes them into this portion with mounting fear behind them. Solid work.
FINAL GRADE: 8.4
Kara’s return to Krypton is anything but welcoming as Ursa attempts to rewrite the past! Campbell stages the heavy emotional weight with an excellent script. The art team crafts a steady look into the failing attempts of hope. There’s no telling how things are going to play out from here!
