The Story
Action is the name of the game in this issue again, and it really felt like a classic Star Wars story that you grew up reading. From the moment the issue starts everything is going at a breakneck pace and does not let up even in the final page.
It’s great to see everything start to come together from a storytelling perspective because our heroes have really been separated for pretty much the entirety of the series thus far. I really liked Leia’s story in this issue because it’s a side of Leia that feels so familiar but in a way that feels unfamiliar. It reminded me a little bit of how she was portrayed in some of the old expanded universe stories, and I have to say I really loved it.
The Artwork
Ramon Rosanas really did a tremendous job with the art in this issue. He does such a great job capturing the likeness of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford & Carrie Fisher and in a comic style format. The action sequences were simply spectacular and the full page panel for the space battle. That would really make a great poster that I would buy in a heartbeat.
FINAL POINT: It’s an action packed issue that is full of battles that feels like a classic Star Wars comic. Together with artwork that is simply stunning, this is an issue that is sure to delight fans of the series.
Overall Grade: 7/10
