Star Wars #8 (Marvel Comics)

Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week I'm going to be reviewing the 8th issue of the mainline Star Wars comic series from Marvel Comics!

Things are reaching a fever pitch for our heroes, and it’s getting explosive! So let’s jump into it!

Credit: Marvel Comics // Star Wars #8 by Alex Segura (Writer), Pete Woods (Artist), VC’s Clayton Cowles (Letterer) & Phil Noto (Cover) is a action packed issue that is sure to delight fans.

*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

The Story

Alex really packs a lot of action into the issue, and it really felt like a classic Marvel Star Wars comic. The portion of the story involving Han was probably the most compelling of the issue. We get to see more of the transition Han is trying to make from smuggler to a respectable citizen in the galaxy.

It’s gonna be interesting to see where this series goes as it wraps up soon. It’s still in relatively unexplored territory for the story overall. There’s a lot of avenues they could take for it, and should they decide to start a new series it’ll be interesting to see where it picks up.

The Artwork

Pete Woods did a really great job with the artwork in the issue he really does a great job giving it the familiar look and feel you’ve come to expect from a Star Wars comic. I really enjoyed the action sequences in the issue that helped contribute the classic feel you’re used.

FINAL POINT: It’s a solid issue that fans who’ve kept up with the series should enjoy, however if you’re just jumping in or you’ve missed an issue or two you might be a bit confused. It’s still a decent read that fans of the series will enjoy.

Overall Grade: 7/10
