*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***
The Story
Action is the main course in this issue again, and it really felt like a classic Star Wars story that you grew up reading from one of the novels or the older comics. From the moment everything kicks off it’s going at a breakneck pace and ends on a very satisfying note by the end.
The story really felt like the ending of Return of the Jedi and it works so well. It has a chaotic feel to it but one that feels so classic to Star Wars storytelling. Ultimately the issue wraps everything up nicely and leaves it open ended. We obviously know where things end up in the overall story, but the future of the mainline Star Wars comic is not known right now as this is written. So where things go from here is anybody’s guess.
The Artwork
Luke Ross really did a tremendous job with the art in this issue. He does such a great job bringing the likeness of Luke, Han & Leia to life in comicbook form. The action sequences were out of this world with how good they were. Together with the stellar job that Chris Sotomayor did on color, the artwork really shines in this issue.
FINAL POINT: It’s an action packed conclusion to the story that feels like a classic Star Wars comic. Together with artwork that is simply stunning, this is an issue that is sure to delight fans of the series.
Overall Grade: 7/10
