STORY OVERVIEW:

Logan & Peter are in a battle for their very lives against Arachnix, who uses his power set which is made up of a mix of their superpowers. This makes fighting him very challenging and they barely make it out of the battle. After meeting back up with Reed Richards and finding out that their return back to Earth-616 may not be possible, they decide to put a plan together. Peter decides that they should attack Arachnix’s team, the Revengers, so they could walk him right into a trap. Unfortunately for them, they underestimated what that team would be, and let’s just say Arachnix isn’t the only one who has shared powers.

WRITING:

This issue is a real joyride and definitely takes the reader on a heck of a ride. Marc Guggenheim does a wonderful job explaining the power sets of the super-villains and showing how this affects not just this world, but also our heroes from the 616. When the Revengers get revealed and you get the power mix ups that they have, it makes the reader sit up in their seat. But the fight and action scenes are not all this book is made of. The emotions of Logan, in particular who is torn between wanting to go home, and his guilt about his and this world’s Mariko, really makes the reader feel for him.

ARTWORK:

The artwork in this issue truly stands out and succeeds in capturing the unique atmosphere of this alternate world. Kaare Andrews excels at bringing the new universe to life, skillfully depicting its distinct settings and characters. One of the highlights of Andrews' work is his approach to the character designs, particularly with this Earth's version of the Revengers and their intriguing character mashups. Complementing Andrews' illustrations, Brian Reber's coloring perfectly matches the tone and energy of the art. The colors are vibrant and dynamic, making each page visually engaging and helping the action leap from the panels.

Final Thoughts:

Spider-Man & Wolverine #8 is an amazing issue that not just delivers some bad ass action but also delivers some real emotional and thought provoking scenarios. The creative team really out did themselves with the introduction of the Revengers. This story arc has been fantastic and damn near perfect. This is a book and series that you should give a shot to. It will definitely exceed your expectations and leave you wanting more.
