STORY OVERVIEW:

Shredder is ambushed by the Dog Star Clan, but things don’t turn out so well for the Clan. Despite having an insane numbers advantage, Shredder slices and dices his way through them. He captures the leader of the attack and finds out that the Yakuza are the ones who want the head of Shredder and are controlling the Dog Star Clan members through their cybernetic augments using a virus. As the Yakuza celebrate their victory over the Clan and Shredder, they find out they may be celebrating a bit prematurely. Shredder has brought the fight to them and makes it very personal.

WRITING:

This issue kicks this new arc into full gear and delivers one hell of an adrenaline rush. Dan Watters captures the intensity and brutality of Shredder perfectly. The brutal and violent fight scenes play out to show you how dangerous Shredder truly is. This allows the reader to really get into the mind and methods of one of the most dangerous figures in all of comic history. Watters also shows the cunningness of Shredder as he plans his next move and the way he uses his attacks as a means of greater intimidation. As the story heats up, it leaves the reader on the edge of their seat wanting more.

ARTWORK:

The artwork in this issue captures the violence and brutality of the issue perfectly. Sid Kotian does an excellent job of making the Shredder larger than life. The way Kotian draws Shredder makes him look impressive and intimidating. The fight scenes are full of violence and gore, which shows the animalistic nature of Shredder, well still taking time to show his cunningness. The color choices by Marco Lesko add to the beautiful artwork. Making every panel jump off the page and giving readers a front row seat to the action.
