WRITING:
This issue does an excellent job of building on the story and bridging the gap between issues. Dan Watters really makes the reader feel for Shredder and what he went through when he was presumed dead. Following the emotional story from Shredder, Watters promptly switches gears and brings the action and suspense. The fight scenes play out amazingly and show the true ruthlessness of Shredder. We even get some humor with the confrontation between Shredder and King Cobra. But the real climax of the story is the final page reveal that will surely set up where we go next in this series.
ARTWORK:
The artwork in this issue complements the story, intensifying its emotion and drama. Michele Bandini delivers dynamic illustrations that capture each fight with precision, deepening the impact of the violence and stakes. Marco Lesko's deliberate color choices enhance mood and immerse readers in Shredder’s world, while Darran Robinson ensures the lettering is clear and atmospheric. The art team’s collaboration results in a visually engaging and cohesive issue.
