STORY OVERVIEW:

Dante Ferno is being forced to answer for his failures on the racing circuit by the investors of not only Alpha Automotive, but also the Tiger Syndicate. One of the investors, Mr. Tate, was one of Dante’s father’s original partners, and demands to see Salvatore at once. However, that may be more than he bargained for when he sees the truth. Meanwhile, the Tiger Syndicate is trying to capture or kill Racer X, but he is outsmarting them at every turn. Dante Ferno is unhappy with the failures of his team and is taking it out on Kim Jugger. Will the Tiger Syndicate be able to take care of their Racer X problem?

WRITING:

This return issue hits the road running and doesn’t disappoint. Mark Russell picks right back where he left off in the story and with amazing racing action to boot. The struggle between Racer X and the Tiger Syndicate is at a fever pitch and delivers a lot of great racing action. But the way Russell shows how evil Dante Ferno is the real story in this issue. His taxidermy room is a thing of nightmares, not to mention the whole business with his father. Russell sets the tone and shows why Ferno is the villain everyone should fear.

ARTWORK:

The artwork in this issue reflects the updated anime style that fans now expect from this Universe. Nuno Plati excels in depicting the racing scenes, making the action feel truly essential. The evil acts of Dante Ferno are brought to life and make every ruthless act even more dastardly.

Giada Marchisio masterfully handles the coloring, perfectly aligning it with the story’s tone and energy. Additionally, Buddy Beaudoin ensures the lettering not only makes the narrative easy to follow but also effectively conveys the story’s emotions.
