Pamela Isley is on the verge of victory but at what cost?
Her deal with the Parliament of Trees has ushered in a new era of Gotham. Using her political status, she has sold the city out. The atmosphere is changing so only plants will survive. Gotham City is no longer livable for humans.
This should buy Isley out of her debt to the Parliament and live amongst the green. Guess Isley didn’t see the fine print of the deal.

Wilson lets Isley reap what she’s sewn in this latest chapter. The opening shows her taking a victory lap as Gotham becomes emersed in the green. Her monologue is direct but elated in what’s coming. The interaction with some citizens is telling as she admits to choosing a side ae trying to walk a line. It paints a cold picture of the reality of Gotham City.
The moment allows events to pivot towards the dangerous game of politics. Hill’s conversation tips off more reality than Isely is ready to deal with. The writing drives home the disillusion of her reality as the Parliament lays down their law. Readers watch as Isley deals with the facts of truth surrounding her play. It leaves a striking sense of fear as everything she hoped to gain shatters in front of her. Wilson exposes the deep wounds as nothing is left to cling to. Even when another figure crashes her path, their interaction shows how far Isley has fallen. It leads to a fast ending with one bad direction to walk to. Heavy is the crown.

art and Lettering:
Takara & Prianto begin events with Isely’s view of the transformed city. A full page image brings Gotham’s horrors to light. Isley’s interaction with the citizens shows her overconfidence in events. She carries a sly grin as she tells of the Plant uprising. It leaves the citizens in shock as their trust in her is removed. This creates a steady mood which carries into a dangerous dose of reality.
Hill’s chat shows how far Isley is out of touch with reality. Her reaction to Hill’s breakdown shows the shock and building fear in her expressions. This moves into an uneasy meeting with the Parliament. Their entrance is given a half panel which bullies Isley. Readers watch as the confrontation goes south very fast. In Isley’s escape, the panels lock in on her sudden realization of failure. It allows for another invested party to debut via full page. Their encounter is fueled with anger as the panels reflect. Otsmane-Elhaou makes Isley’s failures jump out before the ending. The closing panel sends Isley into the unknown. Fitting for someone who’s lost everything.
FINAL GRADE: 8.5
Isley’s visions of grandeur crash all around her as reality of politics sinks in. Wilson exposes the frail state of affairs with solid writing. Takara & Prianto craft the sinking looks of hope with each emotional panel. With nothing left, Isely now embarks on a more dangerous journey: rebuilding from nothing left.
