STORY OVERVIEW:
Harley and Elvira find themselves saved by an Intergalactic Hunk named Vartox. He reveals to them that he would like them to accompany him to a wedding on an alien planet. After some convincing which includes a lot of diamonds, the ladies agree to be his dates. At the party, Harley enjoyed the food and beverages, as well as the company of Vartox. Meanwhile, Elvira gets kidnapped by alien bears known as the Furminoids. This alien civilization worships Elvira and can’t believe their idol is there. However, there is a dark side to this visit and will Harley & Vartox be able to save Elvira in time?
WRITING:
This issue, much like the rest of the series, is a lot of fun and very funny. Amanda Connor & Jimmy Palmiotti continue to put our favorite duo in some fun and odd situations. The weird situations they put them in are out of left field but work within the realm of this wacky world. The fun story is what should bring in the reader and completely keep them entertained throughout the issue. Most other series/books can’t pull off the absurdity that this series does.
ARTWORK:
The artwork in this issue is exceptional, vividly portraying the characters and their environments. The art team does an excellent job of capturing the spirit of a true crossover event, ensuring that each character remains true to their personality and visual style. The backgrounds are rich in detail and imagination, helping readers become further immersed in the narrative.
A lively, warm color scheme adds another layer of enjoyment to the comic. Altogether, these artistic choices create a distinctive atmosphere that amplifies both the humor and the action present throughout the issue.

Final Thoughts:
Harley Quinn x Elvira #5 is another hilarious and fun issue that this series has become known for. Well possibly being one of the most fun issues of the series, it ends with an impactful and shock ending. This being the penultimate issue really benefits the story going into the final issue. Although even with the cliffhanger ending, I still feel like there is something missing coming into the finale. Overall, this is still one of the most fun series on the shelves and will surely entertain you.
