STORY OVERVIEW:

Harley and Elvira are hiding out in Transylvania as guests of the Count. Due to this it’s less like hiding and more like partying. Unfortunately, the brides of the Count are not amused by the duo and want them out and not just out of the house. Meanwhile, Sid with his new cyborg body has gotten word on where they are hiding and is in hot pursuit. Just as Harley and Elvira are about to throw down with the brides, they get unexpected assist from the arrival of Cyborg Sid. Just when it looks like the gig is up, a surprise hero arrives to save the day.

WRITING:

This issue continues the super fun story that this series has been telling. Amanda Conner & Jimmy Palmiotti really capture the essence of these characters which makes this series so much fun. The explicit situations that the duo find themselves in not only push the narrative forward but also drive the fun as a whole. Connor & Palmiotti follow one ridiculous scenario after the next and the absurdity of said scenarios is what makes this series fun and a must read for comic fans. There is no way you pick up an issue and are not entertained thoroughly by it.

ARTWORK:

This issue’s artwork truly stands out, skillfully bringing both the characters and their worlds to life. The art team excels at creating a genuine crossover event atmosphere, with each character drawn accurately to reflect their unique personalities and visual identities. Backgrounds are impressively detailed and imaginative, drawing readers deeper into the story.

The vibrant, warm color palette further enriches the narrative, making the comic even more enjoyable. Altogether, these artistic decisions shape a distinct mood that enhances both the humor and action throughout the issue.

Harley Quinn x Elvira #4 is another super fun issue in this highly fun and entertaining series. The humor hits throughout the issue, well the action scenes also deliver. If you are looking for a fun hero adjacent series to dive headfirst into, this should definitely be at the top of your list. When you visit the shop this week, this book should be one that you pick up and add to your Pull List.
