STORY OVERVIEW:
Ash with his army of allies are taking out Bataar’s troops on their way to ensure Ash’s final showdown with Bataar. However, what they don’t know is that Bataar seeded power to Mingi to stop Ash, and some evil internal being is tempting and controlling Mingi. Know Mingi is ready to fire everything they have at Ash to ensure that he doesn’t make it to the palace. Seeing their next move Ash sends his allies away so they won’t be killed and prepares himself for the final assault on Bataar and his people.
WRITING:
This issue is all gas; no brakes and action packed from front to back. Ludo Lullabi really escalates the already escalated story building towards what we all assume will be one hell of a climax. The nonstop action mixed with the desperation of Bataar’s side makes for a very exciting read. Lullabi shows the reader what a real hero is with Ash’s actions, well simultaneously showing how much of a coward Bataar is. Even though the dichotomy of the two characters has been established before this issue truly solidifies their differences. This issue is as straightforward as they come and still delivers great entertainment throughout.
ARTWORK:
This issue's artwork shows the action in great detail and captures everything it needs to capture. Ludo Lullabi showcases the battle and gives the reader a front row seat to all of the action. The fight scenes feel epic and the scale of them allows the reader to see how epic the battle truly is. But where Lullabi’s artwork really stands out are the dark scenes with Mingi. They take the reader to a dark place and really show the reader the situation Mingi got himself in. The color choices by Adriano Lucas make the artwork pop off the page and add the depth to every scene. The art team on this book delivers every issue.
