STORY OVERVIEW:
Everyone has embarked on the convention to try and save Lil from Susan. Patty’s motherly anger kicks in as she fears for her daughter’s safety. But she should fear for others as Lil is very resourceful and she sets fire to the convention floor to help her escape. In the confusion of the fire not only does Lil escape, but so doesn’t Susan. Now the gang is in hot pursuit of them as they head towards the zoo. The possessed Glory and Lydia are playing a concert on the zoo’s stage, while Savvy leads an army of bystanders after Susan. With everything going on Riley breaks himself and his dad out of jail to try and save the day. Will they be able to save Lil and bring Susan to justice?
WRITING:
The finale to this series delivers a satisfying ending, well also staying as entertaining as the rest of the series has been. Kelly Sue DeConnick delivers a fun, entertaining, and heartfelt finish to this series. The stakes were high as saving Lil is the main objective, but that doesn’t stop the fun and humor from happening as well. This issue will have you laughing at times, worried at others, and damn near crying by the end. The different feelings DeConnick makes you feel in this book is a testament to how good her storytelling is. By the end of the issue your only complaint is that the series is over, and there will not be another issue to enjoy.
ARTWORK:
The series’ punk rock visual style stays fresh throughout, and David Lòpez brings it to life with confidence and energy. His artwork captures the story’s rebellious spirit while remaining approachable, making every panel feel dynamic and immersive. His character designs and page layouts keep the visuals engaging and perfectly aligned with the tone of the narrative.
Cris Peter’s color work complements the art beautifully. The palette enhances the punk aesthetic, strengthens the mood, and gives each scene greater impact. Together, the art and colors make every page stand out and hold the reader’s attention from start to finish.
