STORY OVERVIEW:

As Miguel and Nebraska with Bea in tow close in on Discau, they just have to make it past the Nuns. However, they don’t make it and get captured which sets up for their meeting with Discau. Discau goes on what can only be described as a coke fueled rant on the government and his rights. All of this is in hopes that he can convince Miguel to join him. Unfortunately for everyone, the Hippo’s have arrived and it looks like everyone is doomed. But this is a non-stop drug fueled fever dream, so business has just picked up.

WRITING:

This series has been so much fun, and this final issue is no exception. Fred Kennedy takes the hilarity and crazy entertainment to yet another level. The humorful situations are only overmatched by the crazy and hilarious dialogue. Kennedy makes it impossible for the reader to not be able to hold in their laughter and smile from ear to ear throughout this issue. Through all of this the story gets crazier and crazier until it hits what we would think is a crescendo and then it gets crazier. The best part is the tease for more to come and I for one am game for that.

ARTWORK:

The artwork is just as energetic and offbeat as the story itself. James Edward Clark delivers a distinctive visual style that complements the narrative well. His color palette gives the pages a retro feel, evoking the 1970s and 1980s. The art reinforces the story’s playful tone and keeps readers as engaged as the fast-moving plot. As crazy as the story is, the artwork matches that energy perfectly, creating a perfect storm of entertainment for all.

Final Thoughts:

Florida Hippopotamus Cocaine Massacre #4 is the perfect ending to an insanely fun and hilarious story. The drug fueled fever dream of a story is sure to keep anyone entertained and laughing out loud. This has been one of the funniest and most fun stories and concepts I’ve ever read. This book may not be for everyone, but for those of us who enjoy crazy and nonsensical fun this scratches this itch and then some. The tease for more to come has made me excited and I can’t wait to see what’s next. If you missed reading this one, make sure to keep your eyes open for when orders go live for the Trade which releases in July.
