Wally West is about to go viral and not in a good way.
Someone has been manipulating social media into constantly having Flash save people for clicks and views. All the while, something far more sinister has been building in the background.
There’s a nuclear bomb hidden somewhere in Central City. Flash has checked everywhere he can..twice. The situation is so grave, Captain Cold is helping him save the city.
Time is ticking away……

North continues to find ways to challenge Wally on varying levels. Exhausting him on his search through the leaves him grasping for straws. There’s a hint of defeat in his voice in the opening pages. As his search intensifies, the writing adds more pressure onto his cause. It leaves him needing help from a very uneasy source. His banter with Captain Cold offsets the weight of the hunt ever so briefly. This allows Linda West to sneak into the moment and turn into the missing key to the puzzle.
Readers watch as the new information looks to move Wally into more uncomfortable territory. Seeing his ethics challenges throws a wrinkle into the boy scout persona he carries tightly. Cold’s responses continue to push buttons. It results in finishing one problem before addressing a much greater one. The writing shows Wally find answers in a very disturbed place. It results in a very satisfying ending. North takes Wally back to his strengths while teasing a new stat quo all in the process. Can’t ask for a better finish.

Guidry and Lucas open with a full shot of Wally running or a save. His face displays the wear on his soul for what’s transpiring. A solid two-page spread shows Wally combing the city. The images showcase various spots in town with no luck behind them. This leads into more frantic looks form the Scarlet Speedster. Images switch up when Cold hits the scene. Their conflicting personalities shine while looking for answers.
Linda forces Wally to re-examine a few pieces with a great display of reactions. This leads into more awkward panels with Cold. Their uncomfortable time jumps when the search hits a possible lead. It leads into another solid moment. Wally gets a half page to confront the true mastermind of his problems. The art shows Wally go from comical to serious with no hesitation. This moves events into a more calm state to finish. The wholesome family times slow Wally down long enough to reflect. It pushes the closing into new territory. The final panel teases greatly as the new era has just started.
FINAL GRADE: 9.2
Time is running out on Wally West as a nuclear bomb is set to explode faster than a viral moment. North peels back the layers of the Flash to showcase his true strengths. Guidry and Lucas craft excellent peeks at the chaos swirling around Central City. All Flash, No Brakes indeed!
