*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

When it comes to epic space adventures, few do it better than Adams. The writing is straight forward as Flash leads the attack on the evil partnership. Emperor Flash’s unhinged nature shines when he’s beginning to lose ground. The small dialogue with Ming indicates the tides are turning. This leads to some fun drastic measures. Would fans want it any other way I think not.

Once Vultan hits the scene, the action really ramps up. Their dialogue is perfect for conveying their friendship and attack. It sets forth Flash on a more covert attack. This is all happening while a mini-revolt of prisoners takes place. The moment breaks up the non stop actions for a small portion. After that, readers will be all in on the heavy aerial action commencing. The writing builds up Flash’s daring attack to a solid cliffhanger finish. Textbook in execution but absolutely nothing wrong with that.

The art kicks off events with a full shot of Flash leading “his” army. The reaction of Evil Flash is priceless. His frustration is met head on by Ming’s bored and unfazed response. Once events rev back up the action. Panels really take flight. Pacing adds to a thrilling exchange. This only grows with Vultan’s dramatic entrance. The full page image is timed perfectly to launch into the next act.

Flash’s decent into enemy territory plays of the tense surroundings. It moves into a spiraling full page decent. Loughridge’s coloring amplifies the impact of this event. Once the aerial attacks begin again, the mood changes directions. It is full throttle ahead with each panel moving at breakneck speed. One takes that statement very literally. It concludes with a loud and solid finish. The aftermath heads back into a calmer, more tense phase. This leads right into the full page image finish. Readers are gifted a great finish to depart for now but definitely lock in for next chapter.

FINAL GRADE: 8.6

Flash takes the fight into enemy territory with this latest chapter. Adams pens a fantastic script fueled by action. The art taps into classic aerial action to offset the more secretive ground work. It’s classic space heroics at its’ finest. Don’t miss it!
