Edgard knows this story all too well. However, his history is very complicated. Their time of learning has been cut short by threats.

Pires and Jonas give fans one of the most brutal fights in recent memory with this issue. The opening pages may be the only calm part as influencers are trying to grab a camera shot. From here, its’ nothing but non stop action! CU’s brutality is on full display. No one is safe from his wrath. The writing paints him as an unstoppable monster. It may be right in certian degrees. His actions reflect no one is safe on his pursuit of Fireborn.
The writing also dives into his conflicted past. Readers watch as secrets come to light that Hillburg isn’t ready for. His reactions indicate the fine line he needs to walk with his symbiotic partner. Hillburg’s dialogue doesn’t mix words. It’s very direct on what he’s feeling. It compliments all the huge action. Pires and Jonas don’t even think of taking the foot off the gas in the fighting. This builds to an epic finish with grave consequences. There’s no room for the weak of heart here. After the smoke clears, the epilogue is perfect for where Hillburg’s journey now leads. What a finish!

Mulholland & Dale completely deliver one of the best superhero fights you will witness in comics. Right from the initial two page splash, readers will be locked in on Hillburg’s brawl. CU gets a powerful full image showcasing what he’s presenting. His brief back story gets a creative presentation with panels forming in his shadow,
From here, there’s no turning back from the action sequences. From the explosive two page spreads to the close up full pages, Mulholland & Dale’s art floors readers. This carries the gravity of the situation with every strike. The only issue some may have is with the extreme attacks but it’s warranted for the story at hand. There’s nothing for shock value. This is a fight that only one walks away from. The closing two page spreads don’t miss on impact. It concludes the fight in epic fashion.
The epilogue does a solid job setting up what’s next. Seeing who arrives at the end will have fans excited. The art team gifts one more full shot before bowing out gracefully after a job well done.
Timmy Heague & Luca Casalanguidareturn for their Edge saga with a brooding intensity to the pages. His relentless actions in the Cave of Abraxus show the fearlessness in his evil soul. This amplifies at every turn as he approaches goal. Readers watch as a stunning half panel eliminates most of his immediate threats. One staggers behind to draw more ire from the brash warrior. Being so close to victory, the writing shows a flaw to his pursuit. This becomes crystal clear as he hits a roadblock after his bravado speaks volumes. What he finds waiting for him on the final page forces a reassessment that may be too little, too late. A great compliment piece to the overall world of wonder that is Lost Fantasy.
FINAL GRADE: 9.5
Epic action at every turn! Fireborn vs. CU lives up to billing in a magnificent arc finale! Pires and Jonas pull out all the stops with the writing . Mulholland & Dale take the combat to new heights few can attain with the art. An excellent display of fantasy heroics that lives up to the hype!
