Fleecs puts the pressure on Elsie with the thought of isolation. The initial beginnings sees the direct impact of the CDC incident. Having humans now infected with the virus is an instant game-changer. Her panic allows the Spirit Guide to make a timely entrance. Their conversation never gets easier as the Guide drives home reasons why Elsie is better on her way. The longing for friendship is quickly thrashed but Elsie refuses to quit on the notion.
Readers are greeted to an exceptional recap of the past 25 issues as the Guide and Elsie discuss moments of the past. The dialogue is cutting at points which starts breaking Elsie down slightly. It steers her in an unlikely direction while trying to navigate some infected figures. The writing keeps applying weight on her shoulders with the consistant taunts of the guide. This leads into a peculiar finish as the new path isn’t so isolated after all. A great jumping on point for new readers indeed.

Forstner and the team open with a slow build for the terror. Elsie’s running leads into a frightening full page image of the infected humans escaping from the CDC. The fear is undeniable as Elsie scrambles to act. This is followed up with a haunting full page image of the Spirit Guide. Their presence is calm but frank in dictating conversation with Elsie. It leads into a solid back and forth between the two.
What steals the show is the series of fantastic two page spreads that recap the past 25 issues. Readers are taken on a ride with the key moments of the past taking hold as Elsie defends her wanting of friends. It’s a phenomenal series that capitalizes on the highs and lows of the journey thus far. This pushes the pace to a startling revelation in the present. Elsie’s reactions shows true panic as the dangers escalates. This spills into the show-stopping finish. A full page shot welcomes in the new arc with many questions behind it. Excellent work.
FINAL GRADE: 9
Elsie’s paid an unfriendly visit as her world is rocked to its’ core. Fleecs leans into the shock and fear of events with a great script. Forstner and the team amaze with the series of two page spread recaps. “Feral” never ceases to impress with its’ unique storytelling.
