*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

Writing:

Starks has perfected the balance of crude humor and heavy drama. Having Big Cock emerge from the dead sends shockwaves through Eddie. The writing shows the monstrous hitman lunging after Rumplemindt. Their fight is an incredible homage to classics such as “They Live”. The pacing escalates the showdown to epic levels, with an extreme finish to boot.

Once that is handled, the story swings back to the supporting cast in Pluto. The dialogue is wild and unapologetic as Eddie’s return sparks commentary. His discussion with Little Cock is business only but works to help pivot directions. The conversation with Sophie is the most seriosu Eddie gets while keeping the dark charm he brings. It results in a more tragic ending which sets up a strong finish. One loose thread is starting to be tied while rocking Eddie’s world at the same time. Can’t ask for much better than this.

Pugh & O'Halloran open with a full page of Big Cock ready to fight. Once he sees Little Cock in danger, the action jumps into the fast lane. There are plenty of insane action images. None come near the epic full page montage. This moves into a definitive finish with the blod final blows being presented in half page glory. Carry’s lettering is an incredible complement to these scenes.

Readers watch as the Gas Station reunion is anything but normal. The flashback sequences shine with O’Halloran’s coloring making them pop on the pages. The interactions are classic as the conflict in personalities can’t be ignored. This leads to the more emotionally driven talk with Sophie. Her anger and frustration never leave view as Eddie confesses the truth. It concludes with a full shot of Sophie’s reaction before moving to the close and what awaits there. Another cast member stops the show in the final panel, which spells big changes on the way.

FINAL GRADE: 9.3

A shocking return leads Eddie into doing some reflection as a simple rescue mission is anything but easy. Starks’s phenomenal writing welcomes the insanity of Eddie’s world with high marks. Pugh & O'Halloran embrace the weird with incredible art. End Of Life remains in a class of high level storytelling all by itself.
