Flores & Roe kick off events with a shot of high paced thrills. Halsey’s dramatic escape from Belsario’s crew comes with a mix of humor and bravado. The change in character form issue one is clearly seen in Halsey. Readers watch as he takes some key risks to stay out of Belsario’s reach. The mystique of the hotel comes into play for this scenario. Dancing through the different eras works to add more excitement before leveling off to a somber realization. It is a moment that brings events back full circle before spinning into a new direction.
The writing draws out more emotion from Halsey once the information sinks in. There is a heightened sense of purpose in this fallout. Before heading into more serious ground, one character returns in a dark and humorous manner. Oscar Moran’s “origin” story is one readers can’t help but smile at. If they didn’t know the dangers of Burt Reynolds’ charm, they certainly do now! It’s a great break point before refocusing events heading into the closing act. The writing shows Halsey’s conversation with Iris in a stern but direct light. Halsey knows the stakes and doesn’t hesitate to drive them home. Readers watch as the banter never steps away from where Halsey takes events. This leads into a very shocking ending that no one will see coming. Just when you think you know the answers, Flores & Roe rip up all the questions. An excellent read.

Flores & Scaramella opens with smaller panels to showcase Halsey’s escape. Readers can easily sense the dangers following him as he runs through the legendary hotel’s walls. This results in a new dynamic added into the chase. The revolving door of backgrounds adds to the chaotic scenes. Halsey’s uncomfortable reactions are countered by the various supporting characters he encounters. The attention to detail during the other eras has to be noted. It makes the panels pop before being grounded as Halsey receives some news. The slow build allows Halsey’s expressions to tell a tale all its’ own. This moves events into a quick break before speeding into the strong finish.
Readers' get rewarded with a great Oscar backstory. It is told in such a manner that it could only be Moran’s. The art encompasses the 70’s iconic visuals right up to the wild finish. This leads into a more steady chat between the fast friends. Panel structure crafts their talk with a great back and forth flow. This mood carries over into Iris’ portion of the close. The expressions connect with readers as Halsey unloads his pent-up feelings. This results into magnificent panels celebrating a holiday in bold fashion. Events wrap up with a show-stopping final page. Readers are going to be buzzing waiting for the next chapter to get started.

Halsey goes for broke with the Argyle’s walls closing in on him in a phenomenal chapter. Flores & Roe takes readers on quite the roller-coaster ride with the drama unfolding. The art hones in on Halsey’s desperate attempts to find redemption. This series continues to impress with every twist and turn! Do not sleep on this story!
