Smith and Carrasco keep pressing the issue of the twisted visions in this latest chapter. The beginning pages show Bizarro attempting to deal with changes. This gets amplified when Jimmy Olsen tags along for some heroics. Their conversation is disjointed as more cracks are forming in their foundation. This provides another segway to Perry White and his current dilemma. A much stronger moment to impact readers with.
The writing teases a few surprises as White deals with some startling facts. Both plot points go deeper on their current directions. Each one shows the vast differences to overcome while one seems like a lost cause. Olsen’s pleas to Bizarro fall on deaf ears. Their conversation echoes much of their initial one with more confusion along the way. It builds up towards a steady final act. Once here, events escalate to show their true colors. It leaves readers with a disturbing view of what has emerged. This concludes events on a shocking moment where the dark times have officially began for Olsen and White.

Pitarra & Garland play into the clashing styles early and often with this issue. The awkward open with laundry sets the pace for where events head form here. It leads into an uncomfortable rescue attempt. Olsen’s worry never escape panel views. It leads into a half panel that drives this point home. While one takes a victory smile, Olsen makes it clear how uneasy this “partnership” has become.
The Perry White scenes evoke more suspense with the use of shadows before a reveal. Readers watch as his journey takes a few unexpected turns. His reactions are priceless as he sees massive changes unfolding. It dials up the drama while sliding back to Olsen’s issues. Panels neve dodge the speeding bullets that brings. A great full page shows a vision of the classic Supes. This moves towards a brash outburst with Bizarro finally cracking. The final act nails a high stakes feel while actions are taken. It spins into a wild direction. A collage full page unveils the final form of the Superman rogue before sending him off in a loud two page spread.
FINAL GRADE: 8.3
The tragic fall of Bizarro takes another turn while Olsen and White strive to get home. Smith and Carrasco push the twisted rogue to his breaking point. Pitarra & Garland throw distorted looks into view while Bizarro embraces his destiny. A complex take with many twists along the way.
