The X-Men go into space looking for a phoenix egg but they find the wrong kind of egg. hijinks ensue as all hell breaks loose.
What did we think?
Let's get it started with art on this guys! It looks absolutely fantastic! great great art by Geraldo Borges! The characters look awesome. He’s making great action sequences. The aliens look terrifying. I cannot complain one bit about the art in this. It is great.
Let's move on to the story. Now, obviously, we want X-Men fighting the alien. We do get that in the book.

If I had really any complaint about, it’s the writing in the book. It's just hits the ground running and I was a little confused what era X-Men is this.
They return to earth and who are some of these characters, I was a little taken aback because I haven't kept up on X-Men very much. That said, sometimes when you get these big, I hate to say it but “normie” books that you expected to be your generic X-Men team that you know everybody, it did not do that. It did not hold your hand.
I just wish it had kind of stuck to that Stanley edict of every comic as someone's first because there were some of the characters, I didn't know who they were.
For the most part, the setup of the actual story really cool. I’m excited to see what is going to happen. It's not just a straight up fight between X-Men and Alien. There is clearly more going on here and there are machinations that are happening.
FINAL GRADE: 8
Small complaints aside, this book has a lot of good stuff in it and I can't wait to read the next issue after that final panel. I can't wait to see what happens in the next issue. LET’S GO!
