The writing shows his struggles in dealing with being human. Ths sparks questions form the time displaced heroes as well. Knowing the longer Clark doesn’t have powers, the future becomes re-written. Waid throws in an ironic twist. Clark seems to be much happier in his new human stat quo.
This becomes more complicated as the trio pleads with Clark about his importance. The aftermath starts spiraling time out of their control. Readers watch as they go into crisis mode into solving this issue. The writing shows the lines walked to try advancing events. This gets upended with Epoch crashing the party. Action begins but not without complications. This puts Clark in an very awkward state heading to close. How is going to go in his favor is going to be fun to watch.

Patridge & Delpeche split art duties in this chapter. The farm scenes lead to a half page shake-up. Clark’s reactions steal moments as he starts believing he’s normal. There’s much frustration in adjusting the daily life. A full page shot of high school life stamps this time period home. It leads to a more calm talk with Lana and their growing relationship. Her brief beak as she returns hoe showcases the shock of what she has discovered. A solid tease before returning the future problems.
Epoch’s re-invention gets a steady full shot. This breaks for more farm normalcy. Clark’s genuine happiness can’t be ignored in this series. It makes readers wonder if he was truly happy being Superman (as wild as it sounds). Delpeche takes over as the future of DC K.O. is brought onto page. Once the timeline gets shifted, the art shows the remaining heroes fly into action. The mood shows the desperation in their faces as they try to get his powers back. Clark’s change of heart is layered as he cries out to be the hero he knows. The action follows to move events to closing. A gutsy final panel caps events off with a doubtful future looming.
FINAL GRADE: 8.4
Clark Kent is in a race against time he can’t win in this latest chapter. Waid applies heavy weight as the time line starts to unravel. The art hits the key points in challenging Clark in every aspect. A definite point in the legacy of the future Man of Tomorrow is here.
