*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***
Writing:
Pichetshote goes for broke with the original finale to the series. Lance’s discovery of who’s underneath the mask is quite jarring, but makes complete sense. Their flashbacks with Queen let loose on the pent-up frustrations they have been holding inside for years. It also sparks Queen’s drive to take down Slade and Hammond himself. The moment is powerful in delivery as this unlocks so many avenues to walk while creating new problems.
Readers witness Lance losing time to process as Grundy refuses to go down quietly. It leads to a furious encounter where lines have to be crossed. The writing shows Lance’s determination in ending this once and for all. This aggression results in a huge stoppage before the emotional haymakers get thrown. Pichetshote shows no hesitation in landing the personal shots before another major reveal takes place.
This leads into a huge display of power as Lance emerges into the force fans have known for years. In this wake, there’s another major showdown that pulls no punches. The writing is so sharp here that every line feels like a jab or hook. This leads into a huge moment that shakes up the Absolute stat quo. Readers watch the fallout set both Lance and the mystery figure onto new paths finding their own destinies. The closing pages tease more ramification en route, but what a journey to get there.

Art and Lettering:
Albuquerque & Maiolo bring the tension early with the opening page. Lance’s stare down with the Longbow Killer never flinches. It leads to a series of flashbacks where Maiolo’s coloring exemplifies the subject matter. A striking half page panel answers the lone hovering question fans have been waiting for. This moves events into a present day look that never falters in presentation.
An amazing full page with memory puzzle piece panels starts off this portion of the issue in style. Grundy’s arrival crashes with a loud half panel. The action keeps getting more intense here with each panel. It builds to a solid breaking point. An explosive half panel stops this portion while transitioning back to an anger fueled rage. This is interrupted by more intruders to the scene.
A magnificent two page spread sees Lance finally let loose to shove events into the final acts. Another heated confrontation turns into a shocking full page image. The move will be one fans will have plenty to speak on. Its’ aftermath is a fitting one as it sets stages for the major players left standing. The closing pages tease more danger int he long run, but for now it caps off an extremely incredible run.
FINAL POINT: 9.8
Dinah Lance learns the truth but is she really to carry its’ weight? Pichetshote masterfully orchestrates major reveals with timely action in this superb arc finale. Albuquerque & Maiolo craft exceptional images to impact every piece of this story. The saga of the Absolute Longbow Killer closes one chapter but unlocks a world of dark possibilities. An incredible look at the fine line between justice and revenge.
