After crashing a near riot at Loop’s son’s funeral, the wildcard of “100 Bullets” is shifting his attention elsewhere.
This isn’t setting well with certain parties. All want Lono to comply with their thinking. They have no idea who they’re dealing with.

Azzarello keeps steady with the presentation of this series. The opening pages show the uneasy situation involving the captive cop and Darius. Panels was very uncomfortable to watch as tensions are at an explosive level. Dialogue choices are crude and graphic to match the unsavory people spewing them. Prime example are the podcasters spitting hate. Their conspiracy theories hit some chords but not enough to make them redeemable in any fashion.
Readers get a quick snippet to catch up with Loop and his ex-wife. Their dialogue represents two people shattered by circumstance. It serves as the last calm point before turning attention to Lono. His interactions with the Dogs Of War feeds his evil soul. Readers see he’s not there for anything but anarchy. The talk is more unhinged as Lono is poking the group to fight. This allows the ending to start taking some shape. Loop’s reactions convey a painful past. Lono’s parting moments come with more devilish plans in tow. The issue ends on a stunning note as some players are taken off the board. The guilty party is just getting started with more hell en route. Not one for weak morals.

Risso goes for mid range panels the majority of the book. The look at Darius and the cop is unsettling as the tensions get rolling higher. Readers also see the podcasters banter about bullshit before they get their time going. Loop’s talk with his ex-wife steers into the rapid emotions swings connected to their situation. It creates much range in responses before ending on a somber point. At this stage, the book is handed to Lono, for no better and definitely worse.
The panels with the Dogs of War show the broken society wrapping itself around Lono. No matter where in this sequence, the disgust on Lono’s face is hard to ignore. It leads into some ruffling of feathers as the devil himself challenges the group. Lono’s parting shot after a failed swing says it all to conclude this portion. It moves events to Loop’s reflective take on seeing Lono again. His facial expressions scream volumes. It matches Lono’s next moves in its heavy weight. The close is brutal as action is taken with no remorse. It leaves a near fill panel in the aftermath with no mercy in sight.
FINAL GRADE: 8
The dark, twisted vision of Lono continues its’ brutal path with no mercy in sight. Azzarello’s fearless approach brings out the ugliness in all characters involved. Risso’s art hoens in on the reactions to show Lono’s effect taking hold. An unapologetic look at a broken world with no healing in sight.
