A Look Back at THE MCU Streaming in 2025
With “Wonder Man” being moved to January 2026, The MCU has wrapped up its’ calendar year on Disney Plus. There have been some memorable moments to keep fans entertainment in-between the movies. Long awaited returns and eagerly anticipated debuts pushed the buzz throughout 025. Let’s take a quick recap into what stood out for the MCU on the streaming side of fandoms.
Daredevil: Born Again: March 2025 (picture credit: Marvel Television/Disney Plus)
Cast: Charlie Cox , Vincent D'Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Wilson Bethel, & Jon Bernthal
To say this was a dream come true is an understatement. Reuniting the cast that led a movement on Netflix, “Born Again” debuted with a grittiness and tension other shows can’t’ match. This is due to the two leads of Cox and D'Onofrio. Their performances echo the great Marvel teams who have made the life and times of Matt Murdock unforgettable.
Shaking things up with Fisk’s new role in New York and adding in Bullseye (Bethel) and Frank Castle (Bernthal) made for a winning formula. The only misfire was Muse, but who’s to say fans won’t see that character back some day….just like Foggy Nelson 😊
Ironheart: June 2025 (picture credit: Marvel Television/Disney Plus)
Cast: Dominique Thorne Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Eric André, Cree Summer, Anthony Ramos, Alden Ehrenreich, and Sacha Baron Cohen.
After months of “When will this air?”, fan wishes were answered in June of 2025. “Ironheart” served as a break from the MCU lead-in for Fantastic Four to take off in another direction. Finally introducing Mephisto (Baron Cohen) was a unique call, but very well received. Seeing the worlds of science and magic clash as they did made for a dynamic show. While its’ future is uncertain, “Ironheart” has left a few doors open for Marvel to walk into its’ magical side.
Marvel Animation: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (January 29), Eyes of Wakanda (August 6), Marvel Zombies (October 3) (picture credit: Marvel Television/Disney Plus)
2025 witnessed the rise of Marvel Animation into a show stealer all its own. This was largely in part to “X-Men’97”s success in the prior year. Regardless of how, fans were treated to an all-new vision of Peter Parker’s world. The series caused enough buzz to warrant a second season in fall of 2026.
They also were gifted a very surprising peak into Wakanda’s past which played into its current state. Let us not forget the over-the-top insanity of Marvel and zombies. That show was an experience to watch. Minor complaints aside for the last one, but overall, the animation left fans wanting more. They will have to wait a bit longer as X-Men ’97 returns in Summer of 2026. Until then, there’s plenty to re-watch.
2026 looks to repeat that winning formula with what they have announced. Another season of Born Again, a “Punisher” special presentation and the long-awaited “Vision Quest” lead the pack of what is sure to be much talked about programming.
