STORY OVERVIEW:
Christine Daae is the star of the show and is reaping the benefits of being the star she deserves to be. But what no one knows is that the “Ghost” has been training her and making her the very best. He has also been clearing out the way through nefarious means as well. But this training and guidance surely comes with a price. The question is what is the price and is that price too steep? The “Ghost” can be a jealous mentor, and when Christine lets her feelings for Inspector Dubert slip, there must be repercussions for this.
WRITING:
This issue furthers the story well upping the ante with our main antagonist and protagonist. Tyler Boss takes this legendary story and gives it a new feel and take. The suspense and horror on display in this issue and series really captures the essence of the original story well, adding to it with value. Boss captures the feel of the era impeccably and really makes the reader feel like they are in the era the story was written. The jolted love story also makes its first appearance in this issue and will surely drive the story moving forward.
ARTWORK:
The artwork featured in this issue is impressive and complements the story's mood flawlessly. Martin Simmonds uses a watercolor technique that creates a beautiful yet unsettling atmosphere on every page. The art evokes the era in which the narrative unfolds and simultaneously gives the story a spooky, haunting quality. The ambiance crafted by the visuals pulls readers in, sustaining their interest and curiosity throughout.

Universal Monsters: Phantom of the Opera #2 takes the story to the next level and builds up the jolted lover angle as well. This artwork in this book is hauntingly beautiful and immerses the reader in this world. Well, the story takes you on a journey through darkness and beauty.
