We’re now Two Years into Marvel’s second Ultimate Universe & it’s been an incredible journey. Now, with the Maker set to make his return in the VERY NEAR future, we take a look at what is being done on a cosmic level. Let’s jump into it!

The Story

The big story going on in the Ultimate Universe has been the impending return of The Maker which should be coming in the immediate future. So while The Ultimates have been doing their prep-work, but they’re not the only one. Because now the focus turns to what the Ultimate Guardians are up to.

And boy are their plans BIG! They’re stitching together two Universes into one. Of course things don’t go the way they plan & in a big way. The issue then proceeds to jump through several points in time while we follow some of our heroes through those times. It makes for interesting reading, but it does feel at times a little overwhelming in scope & scale.

It’s a solid read, but just how exactly it’s going to tie into the upcoming Ultimate Endgame remains to be seen. With so many Ultimate books going right now, it’s going to be interesting to see just how this story is woven between them all.

The Artwork

There are A LOT of artists & color artists on this issue. Honestly I think it’s the most I’ve ever seen on an issue, and they’re all impressive. I really like the variation between them but there’s still an overarching familiarity between them all. The use of color is also particularly spectacular & visually stunning.

FINAL POINT: A solid issue, but one that feels like it reached maybe a little too high in scope. The artwork more than makes up for things & make this an issue you’re definitely going to want to check out this week!

Overall Grade: 7/10
