STORY OVERVIEW:

With Ligon holding on by a thread, the rest of the Thundercats are facing imminent defeat. Scorpius has them right where he wants them as Shiner’s troops close in. However, Shiner has given orders to take out Scorpius when the troops get a chance, and take him out they do, much to the surprise of the Cats. But now the Cats are next on the hit list, how will they survive?

WRITING:

This issue really highlights the resilience of the Lost Team. Ed Brisson does an awesome job of not only showing us the peril the team is in, but also how much they can bend without breaking. The emotions run high in this issue with Ligon’s life on the line and the team out numbered and out gunned. Brisson really captures the suspense and danger, well at the same time pulling at your heartstrings.

The swerve of Shiner’s troops taking out Scorpius, was set up in past issues, but was still a shock. Especially how brutal the actual act was. But that gets outshined in the surprise department by what happens on the last pages of the issue. A major crossover event in the Dynamite Entertainment world is on its way, and this was pulled off impeccably.

ARTWORK:

The artwork in this issue is nothing short of outstanding, capturing and amplifying the story’s energetic tone at every turn. Rapha Lobosco delivers dynamic illustrations that bring the action sequences to life, allowing the reader to feel the intensity of the challenges faced by the Cats. His meticulous attention to detail ensures that each panel not only supports the narrative but also makes the story’s vision clear and immersive for the audience. The violence is really brutal and puts the reader in the front row of the battle.

Additionally, the use of color and lettering further enhances the visual experience, powerfully conveying the emotional undertones of each scene and drawing readers deeper into the world of the ThunderCats. Roshan Kurichiyanil chooses colors that make the art pop, and the violence seem real. Well Jeff Eckleberry makes the reader feel every emotion with the lettering.

Final Thoughts:

ThunderCats: Lost #10 is a fitting finale for this Thundercats side story. The issue is full of action, emotion, and twists. This book not only serves as an end to this side story, but also as a jumping off point to a crossover, and what is to come in the main line of Thundercats. This is series that if you didn’t read as it was going on, you should definitely keep your eyes out for the trade when it drops. For those of us who have been on this awesome journey, this issue leaves us with a wonderful closure to this chapter.
