The Story

It’s hard to believe we’re at the final issue of this series, but all good things must come to an end. Deniz Camp pens an incredible end to this masterpiece of a series. The issue is explosive, it’s impactful and it’s one that feels like a penultimate episode of a tv show. So let’s get into it!

As I said before, it’s been a war on all fronts the last couple of issues between the Maker and his forces going up against the Ultimates and their forces. The latest battle in this war is between She-Hulk and her remaining forces going up against the Hulk and his remaining forces. Also let’s not forget that the Hulk is the most powerful member of the Maker’s Council. Yes he has all the incredible strength that comes with being the Hulk, but he also has the Iron Fist and is quite skilled using it.

If you like pulse pounding action than you’re going to love this issue because it is full to the brim with it. It all starts with She-Hulk and her forces marching towards K’un-Lun to the final confrontation with The Hulk. It isn’t long before the battle kicks off, and the interesting twist is The Wasp has joined her after betraying her earlier in the series.

The battle between the two sides is one of the most intense one’s I’ve ever seen and absolutely delivers on all fronts. The dialogue between Hulk and Shen Qi is tremendous and extremely layered. The way it builds to the inevitable confrontation between She-Hulk and The Hulk is absolutely stupendous and like a chess match. You see this all powerful being get taken down in a matchup that isn’t a cheap shot and doesn’t cut corners. Once that battle begins, it’s all out knock down fight for the ages that pulls ZERO punches.

It all sets up for what’s sure to be an explosive confrontation in Ultimate Endgame #5

The Artwork

Juan Frigeri & Federico Blee are on the artwork for this issue and delivers as good a masterpiece as Deniz Camp does. The action sequences are some of the best you’ll read at the comic shops this week. You can feel the impacts of the fight coming through in the artwork and it really delivers on all fronts. Each panel is crisp and impeccably drawn & colored, and you can really tell this is some of the best work Marvel has done.

Overall Grade: 10/10

Deniz Camp finishes off his incredible run with a incredible series finale. It’s rare that you get a run that was so good from start to finish, but this one is absolutely in that list. This is a series that everyone needs to read a least once, and is going to be the benchmark for storytelling for years to come. The artwork that has been pushing the boundaries each and every issue from start to finish and is some of the best this decade. This a finale you can’t miss!
